An Australian crosshead that made me smile
ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA My hire car in Adelaide is a Commodore made by Australian car manufacturer Holden. Nothing remarkable in that but I awoke this morning to discover from The Advertiser that the car maker had made a profit for the first time in five years. Good news indeed for Holden and one which inspired a sub-editor to write this crosshead "Car maker turns a corner". (Might have worked better without the "a")
The intro, presumably written by The Advertiser's motoring editor Stuart Martin (no relation), doesn't quite get into gear though. "Black ink is back in GM Holden's books after five years of losses." What do you think?
